Hi, my name is Mona and my story starts out with an abusive home. I ending up at the pound because a kind hearted lady couldn’t bear to see me abused anymore. At the pound, I had difficulty trusting that people wouldn’t hurt me anymore; but I learned that people are good! People are snuggly! People like to play! Even with all the learning I did, Furever Friends couldn’t find me a foster home. I just couldn’t bring myself to trust other cats and dogs. They scare me and when I’m scared, I think that the best defense is a strong offense!
I am looking for a home without other animals so I can have my new family all to myself to cuddle and play with. So I stayed in the pound and let the volunteers show me what it’s like to be loved. I mean, really loved! Great food, toys and and all the cuddles I wanted! But I was in there a long, long time! Longest cat in the pound ever! That’s not a record I’m proud of. A Furever Friends volunteer promised that I wouldn’t have to spend my life in cat jail. That I would get a real home! She snuck me out sometimes for road trips...mostly to the vet (ugh!), but that just means I am ready for adoption straight outta the pound! My vet says I am a very, very healthy cat! I watched lots of other cats, and even a few dogs, come and go from the pound because they got foster homes and I waited for my turn and finally it might be here!! Let Furever Friends know if you have any questions and I will get one of the volunteers to tell you how sweet I am. Oh, I like kids too! That might be a good feature, right?!
