My name is Robin, like the bird not the superhero.
I was found in the winter…starving. Literally starving!
I was so hungry that I was eating bird seed. It was the only thing I could find. A few months before winter, and all the bird seed eating episodes, I broke my leg. I totally don’t remember how it happened, so I probably had a concussion, too. I do know I was in unfamiliar territory with a bum leg. I hid, waited, snuck food where I could…mostly from garbage bags and recycling cans at night. So scared!
I came across a yard with a heated feral shelter in Altona. Saved my life, but the other cats always got to the food first. I was too slow with my broken leg…which was now healed, but not quite in the right spot. This yard also had a bird feeder and those messy birds threw all the seeds on the ground. Easy for me to pick up and eat. I was spotted several times eating the bird food and the lady in the house was watching and feeling so sad for me. So sad she invited me in. But I said “No way!” She put out extra cat food just for me. She kept putting it closer and closer to the door and one day she put it inside. “Gotch ya” she yelled as she slammed the door closed behind me. Holy Moly I was terrified!
I came around to living the good inside life pretty fast though. Must have had some kind of home in the past, which I can’t remember. It's still all a blur to me. I was taken in by FFCR and brought to the vet. They said my leg healed wrong but they didn't want to re-break it. It is what it is and I'm already used to it like this. It doesn’t even hurt anymore. I got fully vetted, including neutered, and have never been happier in my life!
I love a good cuddle and would snuggle on your lap, in your bed or wherever you want! I'm not picky about sharing my cuddles with you. But I have a few health problems… We are still working on them.
I developed asthma…can you get asthma from eating birdseed? I really don’t know how, but I got it somehow! I need a puffer to help clear my airway. I take it like a pro…very easy for you to do this for me. I also got a little overweight…you understand that I was starving, right?! And now there is endless food…I'm doing good on my diet and by the time you adopt me I should be the perfect weight again.
I also have a poultry allergy and it makes me itchy to eat it…what are they putting in cat food these days?!?! I really could use your help and a good home. Adoption is just a signature away! Call FFCR and ask if you can meet me. Or adopt me…or both!!!

Robin is fully vetted and available for adoption.
