I am Poe, How do you do? 

 

Once upon a midnight dreary, I wandered the streets of Altona, weak and weary. While my family lay nearly napping, we heard a tapping near our shelter door. Tis some visitor,” said my brother! “Tis the wind and nothing more,” said my mother. Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing … tis was a human come to take us to the pound I fear for evermore.

 

Now in a cage, all my soul within me burning, soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before. It was Furever Friends volunteers come to free us, free us and take us to their chamber and more. There within was warmth and food. We would be cold and hungry … nevermore. 

 

At first, I feared them these humans coming through this chamber door. But presently my soul grew stronger, hesitating then no longer. Soon I was playing then snuggling, snuggling in their arms and more. My family and I would be scared and lonely … nevermore.

 

Now that my little soul found love and safety I am searching, searching for a family to adore ... for now and evermore.
