Hi I'm Twig! 

 

My story is pretty much the same as as most kittens born outside to a feral mom.  A feral cat's life isn’t easy but its especially hard for mother cats.  My mom had a huge extra load trying to figure out how to feed herself, and keep us safe.  Unfortunately many kittens like me don't get the opportunity to grow up and here's where my story is different. 

 

My mom luckily found shelter in an area where kind hearted people lived.  They knew our family needed help and worked with Furever Friends and Altona Animal control to give us the opportunity for a better life.  Now its a good thing these folks are a little bit stubborn because we didn't make it easy for them.  We evaded capture for quite awhile but cat rescuers don't give up just like that and eventually all that determination ended up with me and my siblings trapped inside with the humans. 

Well I was determined too.  I was not gonna like it.  I hissed, I howled and I hollered but those stubborn humans didn't let me out.  In fact the more I tried to convince them to leave me alone the more treats they gave me.  Eventually I forgot all about hissing and howling and went straight to the treat eating.  I guess these Furever Friends folks are more stubborn then me.  Oh well, now I get cuddles and toys and as much food I can eat. 

And what about my mom you ask?  She may never be happy as an inside cat living with humans however now that we're taken care of she has the opportunity to get trapped, spayed and returned to her home territory to live her life without the extra burden of trying to keep a family safe.  Her happy ending might look different then mine but its still a happier and healthier life for her. 

Speaking about happy endings though.  I'm looking for a special family to be my happily ever after ... is that you?
